Why is energy important...
Over the past century, Israel has developed rapidly and become the industrial and metropolitan country that it is today. Mixed with versatile communities, the country uses energy in different ways to continue its development and sustainability. However, with this comes a price. The environment is put in a comprising situation for with energy consumption comes the emission of greenhouse gases and other pollutants that harm the environment. Consequences, such as global warming and the melting of the ice caps, cannot be taken lightly for these consequences cause irreparable damage.
As Israel continues to develop, there is an increase in the demand for energy. However, this demand cannot be met without expanding energy utilities. Now is the time to change the policy at hand. Instead of burning fossil fuels, such as coal, gas and oil, Israel can focus on using alternative energy sources, such as solar and wind energy. By reducing carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels, Israel can help curb the adverse effects of CO2 emissions. These effects, including global warming, loss of biodiversity and depletion of the ozone layer, must be addressed. By reducing and shifting consumption, along with passing new policies for alternative energy production, Israel can help stop the detrimental progress of the environment’s deterioration.
